 STAGED HOMES SELL FOR MORE MONEY:

Statistics show that homes that have been professionally staged, on average, sell for  6%  to 10% more then non-staged homes.  Survey results very, according to source and market, but some research such as from the U.S. Housing and Urban Development reports that a staged home will sell, on average, for 17% higher than an un-staged home.  There are actually many homes that see even higher gains after staging. But no matter whatsource you look at, the evidence is obvious - staged homes bring higher selling prices then those that are not staged.
 

A National Association of Realtors survey - found that "the longer a home stays on the market, the further below list price it drops.  Homes that sold in the first 4 weeks averaged 1% more than the list price; 4 to 12 weeks averaged 5% less; 13 to 24 weeks averaged 6.4% less; than list price; and 24 weeks averaged more than 10% less than list price".

  STAGED HOMES SELL MUCH FASTER Than Un-Staged Homes: 

Nationwide, the Average # of Days on the Market for Staged Homes is 7.6 to 13.9 Days.  In Hawaii, on O'ahu, we're looking at an average of around 60 -90 days for a non-staged home to remain on the market, unsold.

One thing that is for sure, it is clear that homes that have been Professionally Staged are selling much faster then those that are not. ASP says that 93% of the homes that they stage are sold in 30 days or less.  You will find very similar statistics on other websites.  The bottom line is; no matter who your stager is, providing they are Professionals and know what they are doing, you can expect to see a MUCH FASTER turn around time on the sale of your home when it is Professionally Staged.  Staging Absolutely Works!

USA Today Article - "When Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Los Altos, Calif., looked at nearly 2,800 properties in eight U.S. cities in 2004, they found that the staged homes, on average, sold in half the time that the non-staged homes did. The sellers with staged homes ended up with 6.3% more than their asking price, on average, while sellers with non-staged homes sold for 1.6% more than the asking price"

Staging doesn’t cost a dime. In a 2007 Home Gain Survey of over 2000 realtors, it was discovered that even a $500 Staging Investment recovered over 343% of the cost in the sale of their home.  Remember - The cost of Staging is FAR LESS THAN YOUR FIRST PRICE REDUCTION!

 ...The average staging investment is between 1 and 3 percent of the home's asking price, which generates a return of 8 to 10 percent.
