HHSPC Home Stager Designation Course

HHSPC Staging Pro™ Full Certification Course:  Anticipated Total Training Time: 
22 Hours.  (Additional time, up to 10 hours, can be made available if needed in order to cover all course material.  Total training time can vary slightly from student to student.)

Personalized, One-On-One Student/Teacher Training Sessions - 2 to 3 Hours each  session - One Session Per Week.  (A second session within the same week can potentially be scheduled in order to accelerate your course, when time and scheduling permits.)

You can complete your course within 60 to 90 Days, depending on your training schedule.

Includes - Two 3-Hr. Open House Sessions

We try to make our schedules as flexible as possible, in order to accommodate individual needs.  Your individualized training schedule will be set up after you signup for your course 

In addition to your personal training time, you will also have reading assignments, a small amount of homework and a final written certification exam

Total Training Time:  8 Hours.

Home Staging Defined:  Visual & Real Estate Merchandising and Home Marketing is at the heart of home staging.  We go into much detail in this area so you will truly understand what staging really is, and also what it is not.  You will learn why and how it is that Home Staging is a part of the Real Estate Industry. Also, you will learn why Home Staging is not the same as Interior Design, and what the major differences are between these two fields of trade.  A GOOD understanding of this is critical to being a successful and effective Home Stager!

Damages & Repairs:  How to deal with Damages, Repairs, and even Remodeling that needs to be done is something that every home stager must know.  You will learn what to do when you encounter these situations in your client's homes.

Landscaping, Plants & Flowers:  Plants can add warmth, color, life, vitality and value to a home, so they are therefore extremely important to most all staging projects, Every home has different needs.  Some homes need live plants, while others are best suited for artificial plants.  Some homes need exterior landscaping in order to add to curb appeal, to add color and excitement, to make the home more attractive, and to increase value. Stagers need to have at least a basic understanding of plant care and health, where to find what is needed, how, where, and when plants should be used, Etc.  We will cover all of these issues in your course.

Art Work for The Home:  Art is a very subjective thing, but every home that is staged needs it.  Learn what kind of art is appropriate for the purposes of staging, how to use it effectively, how to make it work for you, where to obtain the art work that you need, and more.

Packing, moving, storage, de-cluttering, rearranging of the clients belongings:  Packing, moving around items, transporting and storing furnishings is something that we, as stagers, do all the time - it is a major activity within our profession.  Whether it's a vacant or an occupied property, you are going to be doing a lot of this in your work as a stager.  When we work in occupied homes, there is the added dimension of de-cluttering and rearranging your clients personal items.  There is a right and a wrong way to do all of these things.  We will teach you what you need to know so you don't make major mistakes!!!

Video & Still Photography Techniques For Home Stagers:  Video and Still Pictures are both very  powerful marketing tools.  Unfortunately, many clients and even Realtors do not know how, or have the proper professional grade equipment to produce the desired and needed results.  But over 90% of all home buyers begin their search for a new home online, so professionally produced photographs and video is an absolutely essential component to successfully selling a home in the least amount of time and for the most amount of money.  It does little good to stage a home and make it beautiful and attractive if no one ever goes out to look at the home.  After a home is staged, it needs a strong online presence in order to attract lookers.   As a Value-Added Feature, once the staging is completed, Home Stagers can provide this marketing tool in order to help assure the effectiveness of the staging work.  This course teaches you some of the most basic techniques and gives you vital information that you need in order to provide this service.

We will show you how to properly take photos and video for real estate.  We will teach you some basic editing techniques and provide you with a working knowledge of Tripods, Special Lenses, Professional Cameras, and lighting.

Staging Furniture and Accessories:  You will learn how and where to shop for and find furnishings that are appropriate to the various needs & requirements of home staging.  We will cover information about vendors, rental companies, new purchases, making use of existing items in a home, storage, transportation, and staging inventory

Insurance and Liability In The Home Staging Industry:  This is an area that we cover so that students will have an understanding about the risks and obligations that we have in the staging industry.  This is a particularly important topic for freelancers and people who plan to operate their own staging businesses.

Course Materials:  In both of our courses, we utilize and provide various printed and multimedia resources.  These materials are made available either online, live during one-on-one training sessions, or provided in digital or printed form to students,  We are continually developing new materials all the time as this is an ongoing process.

 

Real-World Hands-On Experience:  For your first 2 projects, if you would like to work with our sister company Paradise Home Staging, and as we have work available, you may be able to work with us under our Stager Apprentice Program as a way to add to your training.  In order to qualify, you must be in good standing with HHSPC, current on any payments and fees associated with course payment plans, and doing well in your training sessions (or have already obtained your HHSPC Certification or Designation).  This work will be offered in Hawaii Homes that are either already on the market, or being prepared for sale.  Apprentice work is considered to be training in addition to and over and above your designated course hours.

Start Your Own Home Staging Business:
Either of our two courses will give you knowledge and tools that you can use to successfully start and operate your own staging business.  You have the opportunity to work with our sister company, Paradise Home Staging, or you can work completely on your own - the choice is yours.  Either way, your training with HHSPC is always an investment in yourself.  Ultimately, how you choose to use your knowledge and skills is what will determine how well you do in the future.  Education is always, always, always a good thing!
